West Suburban Conference 2021 Preview With Coach Big Pete : Surprises, Surprises, Surprises
Welcome back IHSA Fall Football!!! As is every August I do conference previews and again please remember predictions and previews mean crap. High school football is the greatest thing because of pure parity. What is up last year could be down this year and what is down last year can up this year. ANYTHING AND I MEAN ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN IN IHSA FOOTBALL. Also unlike some prep writers who take credit and copy and past the coaches work. Thank You, to the high school coaches that put the info up on HUDL and emailed me info as well. Also I am not taking that much from the COVID Spring Season. Spring Season was a very weird and crazy time. Was going to do Conference Preview videos, but no one needs to see my face till next week. It will be just article form
WEST SUBURBAN CONFERENCE FALL 2021 Season Preview
Again this is a one of the weirdest large conferences in the IHSA for Fall 2021 (next to the DuKane). Both divisions can go different ways and some of the leading teams have huge questions going into the fall. Silver division can go different ways, and I don't see Glenbard West or Hinsdale Central as sole favorites as recent history. Keep a close eye out for Lyons Township this season with their underrated passing attack. Watch out for rising teams like Downers Grove North and York football. Coach Fitz has got these York Dukes dreaming big for the upcoming season with a dynamic offense. If OPRF can get into synch this fall they could be another team to watch out for with some surprises on the line. In the Gold I see a strong Willowbrook team but I'm scared to face those Downers South Mustangs. Hinsdale South I believe is going to surprise some people this season in the Gold (too much overshadowing the Hornets). But the main goal of every Gold division defense is to stop Willowbrook's Joshua Brown. Again I see tough years for Leyden and Morton again but look for potential growth in the coming years. Really like this Addison Trail program for the future and what Chris Bazant is doing and trying to establish.
