Seamus O'Connell Stevenson QB Class of 2022 6'0 155

Seamus O'Connell how was your 2019 season? I spent the year splitting reps on the sophomore team. It was definitely a learning experience for me and my teammates. We had a lot of guys get pulled up to varsity towards the end of our regular season but I was really happy to see how our team embraced a next man up mindset and pulled together and played their roles well. What does football mean to you? I’ve been playing since 2nd grade and every year has taught me something new. Playing football has taught me about teamwork, leadership and battling adversary better than anything else could. I love not only the physical aspect, but the idea of being a student of the game is something I’ve embraced more and more as I’ve gotten older and moved on to higher levels. What should college coaches know about you? Hard work isn’t something I shy away from. I know performance on Fridays doesn’t come without deliberate preparation throughout the other 6 days a week. A big focus of mine is not only improving my own game but trying to elevate my teammates and those around me. I love being coached and I try to be a sponge whenever I hear new information or coaching. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel like the mental side of my game is my strong suit. I think maintaining composure in the pocket and being able to keep my eyes downfield and read defenses is what allows me to get the ball out to our playmakers. What do you like about playing QB? I like having the ball in my hands every play and being able to be distribute it to our many phenomenal playmakers. I feel comfortable being in a leadership role and supporting my teammates and trying to lead by being the best example I can be everyday, on and off the field.
