Class Of 2024 Illinois QBs Grade: C-
LAST YEAR Class Of 2023 Illinois QBs Grade: C+
So just like the Class Of 2023 we have lot more potential than actual proven QBs for the Class of 2024. Too be honest this Class has the feel of Illinois Class Of 2017 QBs. St. Francis Alessio Milivojevic, Marian Central Catholic Cale McThenia, Willowbrook Arthur Palicki are your top 3 QBs in Illinois as of March 2023. But still very raw and compared to last year not near the level of readiness as Naperville North QB Aidan Gray. Alessio has all the physical tools but still very green with his throwing mechanics. With his ability to throw off the run and open up coverages is what makes him special in the Land of Lincoln. Cale McThenia another riser from the fall but still would like to see more of him when the game is on the line. Developed over time during Week 1 against Wheaton Academy to Week 9 of last season. Both Cale and Alessio have had yet to show their full level of talent. Arthur Palicki has had to make strides with lesser talent around than the last two QBs that I have mentioned on the list. Arthur is one of the more technically sound QBs from this 2024 class. Ethan Kohl could have a huge impact on recruiting this summer and start getting some offers. Kohl can do it all and has proven to be quite accurate in his third level throws. Troyer Carlson of Kaneland is QB that I almost admire for quick reaction skills and ability to find the window. Troyer is that QB that can take the reigns his first college season and never let go. Nacari McFarland is player that we are still waiting on and could be one of the best QBs in the state of Illinois and even the Midwest region. Ryan Boe and Collin Hayes are in the upper echelon with the Class Of 2024 QBs in the Land of Lincoln. Ryan Boe has proven to an elite QB just with his throws but his ability to read defenses. Collin Hayes is still an underrated QB that deserves more respect than he is getting with his frame and athleticism. East St. Louis Robert Battle could have a huge year and see the success of past Flyer QBs with offers coming in. Tino Gist is an interesting recruit to many college coaches, if his growth is seen this fall Mr. Gist could be bringing in some offers. Both Tino and Robert are featured in fast scoring offenses. Huge fall riser could be Edwardsville QB Jake Curry, all the kid does is make plays and continues to grow in that position. Jake is that type of last season Southern Illinois region steal that we see in November.
3 QBs Out Of The Class Of 2024 That Are Putting Big Numbers But Still Slept On
Max Bray St. Bede Academy - Amazing three years at Aurora Christian and will continue his playmaking ability at St. Bede. Great patience in the pocket and just keeps on growing with every game. This summer recruiting will trail will be huge for him.
Braden Tischer Lincoln Way East- Braden has been a killer for defenses with not just his arm but his underappreciated speed. Never have seen a QB with that burst of speed on a IHSA football field. Undersized killer of defenses that continue underestimate his skill.
Michael Champagne Glenbard South- If he had 4 more inches on him, he would be the QB recruit in the state. Personal favorite of mine who just plays the game at high level. Love his vision down field and ability to make something out of nothing.
3 2024 QBs That Are Ready To Explode In Recruiting This Summer
Connor Dennis Boylan Catholic- Connor to me is a powder keg on the recruiting scene. All he needs is one key game for college coaches to take notice. Reminds me a lot of former OPRF QB Jeremy Hunt and could be a huge steal for a program. Oh, and did I mention multi-sport athlete.
Marek Hill Fenwick- Lot of college coaches are waiting on this kid; this has to be one of the most anticipated QBs senior seasons that I have seen in a while. Those first three games are going to be important for his recruitment.
Ryan Mohler Neuqua Valley- Cool as an ice cube in the backfield, and quick in his judgement when reading defenses. One of the most asked about QBs in this Class, and college coaches will soon find out could be a steal in Illinois.
