Coach Big Pete's IHSA Games Of The Week For Week 9 2023 Also Scouting Notes & Playoff Outlook

Well, it's the last week of IHSA Football regular season and I always tell the seniors that aren't going to the playoffs to leave it all on the field and cherish it. We got an epic Chicago Catholic League matchup with both undefeated teams of Mount Carmel taking on Loyola Academy. Zero loss Arthur-Lovington takes on undefeated Sullivan in a big-time Lincon Prairie Conference matchup. Out west we got the epic rivalry battle between the undefeated Sycamore Spartans taking on the on-fire Morris squad. We have the big-time rivalry of SHG vs Rochester in the Central State Eight with SHG getting a big-time upset loss last week. One loss Forreston takes on NUIC rival Undefeated Lena-Winslow. One loss Athens squad battles a hot streak Marora Forsyth. DUPEC welcomes Althoff Catholic up north in a battle of small school powerhouses and strong predictor for a lot of media members. In Southern Illinois we got the red-hot Murphysboro team taking on the immovable object that is DuQuoin. In the southern burbs we the Southland Championship game between Crete-Monee vs Kankakee. Undefeated Morton Potters taking on one loss Washington Panthers. Big time DuKane Conference matchup with SCN taking on the Geneva Vikings both teams need a win to close the regular season to get ready for the playoffs. In Chicago we have battle of two 8-0s as Payton takes on Lincoln Park.

Again, IHSA Football players make sure I have your game film - send VIA DM on Twitter or email coachbigpetefp@gmail.com. Also make sure every Friday night after the game I get your stats (I'm looking for the IHSA Player of the Night). Please Coaches and Players make sure that I have your game film from that week so I can send it out. Week 9 usually comes fast and need those stats ASAP as my Sunday Conclusion Article will be published on Saturday. Also I know its Week 9 but I need those season stats now, as I will be handing out Regular Season Awards this Sunday.

Coach Big Pete's Top 5 Spotlight Names That You Need To Know For 2024 That Are Ready To Explode

Patrick Cheney LB 6'2 205 Lyons Township Class Of 2026

Athletic specimen that is going to blow up in 2024. Still growing into his body, you can see it in his center to low balance. But seems to be most dynamic defensive player in Chicagoland area. Makes plays and is not afraid to take on blocks. Does not hesitate like most young defenders, which is always a key for that type of recruit.

Jayden Marshall DB 5'11 145 Crete-Monee Class Of 2026

One of the best DBs is the state of Illinois for the class of 2026. Growth in skills is off the chart, and not to mention his footwork. Has the potential to be a top regional recruit by this winter. Quick off the reads, and natural playmaking ability.

Luke Nelson LB/ER 6'1 195 Stevenson Class Of 2025

WOW!!!! Never in my life of scouting have I seen a recruit grow to the potential that Luke has. Overall vision grew and not to mention speed of the edge. His flexible movement at the position is what sets him apart from the class. Still a little raw on hand technique but at that age who isn't. He gets after it and doesn't give up. Could be a top Midwest recruit as soon as the first flower blooms in spring.

Hunter Niklos ATH 6'1 165 Harvest Christian Academy Class Of 2026

"8 - man football, Pete your crazy". No, no I'm not. This kid is that damn special and must know player in the Land of Lincoln. He has shown his pure skill the past two years at showcases. He is an absolute stud on both sides of the ball. Natural athletic ability sets him apart from other recruits. One of the very few 8 man recruits I get asked about from college programs.

Cale Kimbro LB 6'3 200 Mattoon Class Of 2025

Central Illinois star that you need to know about. Cale embodies that old school defensive mind set. Makes plays on the run and great sideline to sideline speed. Need to work on hand fighting technique and strength. Raw potential of Cale is just so unique that you got pay attention to this recruit.

Teams That Need To Win This Week For Week 9

Every 4-4 team that has a shot for the playoffs. Every team that has an 0-8 record. Every team that has a new coaching staff trying to build something special out of losing program. All the seniors that won't be playing in the playoffs that want to go out on top.

LEAVE IT ON THE FIELD
