Coach Big Pete's IHSA Games Of The Week For Week 8 2023 Also Scouting Notes & Playoff Outlook

2 Weeks left till 2023 IHSA Playoffs. Week 7 welcome and do we have some important action for you in the Central and Southern Illinois region. Undefeated Edwardsville takes on rival powerhouse East St. Louis in game that could be the best game in the state. Sessier-Valier undefeated takes on another undeated black diamond team in Johnston City. Rochester takes on CS8 Rival Glenwood in a great slobber knocker of a game. Up north we got Belvidere North talking on the Harlem Huskies and that devastating defense. Aurora Christian taking on Wheaton Academy for a game that Chicago Hope will have interest in. Dixon undefeated takes on the big dog team of Byron with that devastating run attack. Dunlap coming off a loss to Washington last week takes on undefeated Morton. Forreston takes on DUPEC in the NUIC with Forreston trying not to get distracted by the big Week 9 game. On fire Lincoln Way East takes on a Sandburg squad that is exceeding expectations. Peoria Notre Dame has to find a way to spoil the undefeated Ironmen of Normal and their dominating defense.

Again, IHSA Football players make sure I have your game film - send VIA DM on Twitter or email coachbigpetefp@gmail.com. Also make sure every Friday night after the game I get your stats (I'm looking for the IHSA Player of the Night). Please Coaches and Players make sure that I have your game film from that week so I can send it out. Also, since the season is winding down, please start sending me season stats.

2. Blaise LaVista WR Libertyville Class Of 2026

Coach Big Pete Class Of 2024 Top 5 Spotlight Names That You Need To Stop Sleeping On

Nathaniel Henderson Oak Forest OL 6'1 275 - Nate is a tank of offensive lineman. Aggressive and never backs down from defenders. Ability to latch on drive off DL in the lane is what makes him special. Tired of talking about this kid and someone needs to offer this man. Yes, undersized but the kid straight up finishes the job that is asked of him.

Chris Bern Naperville Central WR 5'11 170- Kid has done everything asked of him and even had to play QB. One of the more underrated WR in the state of Illinois that people need to pay close attention to. Runs his routes with crisp effectiveness. Underrated speed along with soft hands is what makes him a top recruit in DuPage County.

Tim Wessels Harlem LB 6'3 225- Could be one of the best linebackers in the state. More athletic than people realize. Tim possesses the ability to make plays on the run and get that key stop. Hand ability to fight off linemen, and quick reaction time is what sets him apart.

Joey Gliatta ICCP ATH 5'10 175- Kid is a special athlete with nothing but pure determination and will to win. Great sideline to sideline speed that you must know about. Doesn't go down easy and spots a hole quickly to get to that second level of a defense.

Derrick "DJ" Stewart St. Rita RB 6'0 220- I shouldn't have to talk about a CCL Running Back but in this case I do. DJ has been a tank running through holes and making plays for the past 2 years. Kid needs more looks than he is getting. Old school 80's style of running back that is not afraid to take a hit. STOP SLEEPING ON DJ.
