Chatting With Riverside Brookfield Linebacker Jordan Medrano Class Of 2021 - Name To Watch

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Jordan Medrano Riverside Brookfield Class of 2021 LB 6'1 200

Jordan Medrano how was your 2019 season? It was great I got thrusted into the starting lineup due to injury against Aurora Christian and was able to get the sack to put them out of field goal range in the closing minute, in my first varsity game and secured a starting spot from there forward. Totaling 62 tackles and 4 sacks through 7 games. All glory to my team though. Without them none of it would’ve been possible. We unfortunately made a first round exit to Kenwood but it came down to the last drive we just couldn’t pull through. What should college coaches know about you? They should know no matter the level I play they’re going to get 110% of me. Whether I’m expected to be a game changer or starting from the bottom they’re gonna get nothin less than 100% effort. They should just as well know that I’ll play to there standards and nothing less. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I believe my strongest trait would be my ability to play at all levels of the defense weather it’s playing as a member of the secondary or playing in the box I can keep up with a #1 receiver or match up with a OG or OT for a sack. Now with my added size I believe I’ll be even better at both. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? This past offseason I really wanted to work on my size. I was originally 5’11 160 during the season since then I put on around 40-45lbs and currently sit at 205 6’1. Meanwhile I was still able to retain my speed and even got faster as well as way stronger. Before lockdown I couldn’t bench more than 225 now I’m maxing 300. How does Riverside Brookfield look for the upcoming season? Who are some players I need to keep an eye out for? Riverside Brookfield is looking great for this upcoming system even with our school not allowing our contact days we still have been able to put in a lot of work ourselves and our defense Is really coming together so much so it’s looking real scary. In reality I would say you have to look out for the entire team but some standouts i think you should really keep your eye on is. My fellow LB Luke Swiatek and one of our DBs George Donnamario.
