Libertyville wide receiver Vlad Oslavskyi has officially committed to Quincy University, turning a longtime dream into reality after a senior season defined by growth, resilience, and belief.
For Oslavskyi, the opportunity to play college football carries deep personal meaning.
“Committing to Quincy means a lot to me. My dream has always been to play football at the next level.”
Quincy stood out throughout the recruiting process because of the relationships he built and the environment he felt on campus.
“Quincy was the right fit for me because I made good connections with the coaches, and the school is small so I’ll get to know people and be part of something special. The coaches cared about me. They were checking in on me all the time.”
Oslavskyi’s senior season at Libertyville played a major role in his development, both on and off the field. He credits the program with shaping his mindset and toughness.
“My biggest improvement from Week 1 to the end of the season was my mentality. Libertyville football helped me grow mentally and taught me to never give up no matter what and to care about the people around me.”
One of his favorite memories came in a defining rivalry moment.
“The best moment was beating our conference rival Lake Forest and making it to the playoffs.”
The recruiting journey tested his patience, especially entering his final high school season without college interest. Oslavskyi stayed the course.
“Going into my senior year I didn’t have any interest, but I kept believing and working hard. I learned to be patient. The best advice I got was to be patient, and I got it from my head coach Tim Budge.”
On the field, Oslavskyi believes his mentality remains his greatest strength, while he continues to refine the technical details of his game.
“The strongest part of my game right now is my mentality. The part I’m most excited to keep developing in college is my snap speed.”
With his college decision made, his focus has shifted to preparation and growth.
“My main offseason priority is to keep getting better and put myself in the best position possible to compete. My goal for my freshman year is to build good relationships with coaches and teammates.”
Looking back on his Libertyville career, Oslavskyi takes pride in the challenges he overcame along the way.
“What I’m most proud of is the adversity I overcame.”
He also has a message for younger players still waiting for their opportunity.
“Keep working hard and stay patient. God has a plan for you.”
Oslavskyi now takes the next step in his football journey at Quincy University, carrying with him the mentality, perseverance, and lessons forged at Libertyville.
