Libertyville senior wide receiver and long snapper Vlad Oslavskyi has been doing a little bit of everything for the Wildcats this fall. At 6’0” and 155 pounds with a 3.1 GPA, he’s shown growth on the field and in the classroom, becoming a steady presence for Libertyville as they push through the 2025 season.

The Wildcats opened the year with a strong win over Lemont before dropping a pair of close ones, in an overtime battle with Naperville North and a tough loss to Stevenson. Even with the setbacks, Oslavskyi believes the group has what it takes to make another playoff run.

“I feel that the team started the season pretty strong, beating Lemont and you know tough loss to Naperville North in overtime,” Oslavskyi said. “I think to make a playoff run again we just have to be disciplined and do our job.”

That discipline has carried over into his own game as well. After a breakout junior season, Oslavskyi says his biggest improvement has been his growing knowledge of the game and ability to process situations in real time. Known as a “route technician,” his favorite pattern to run is the fade, but he’s also been putting in extra work on a different craft. He is the long snapper.

“I’m just doing it for fun,” he said with a smile, before adding that the hardest part is “probably your ability to focus under the pressure.”

Oslavskyi admits he hasn’t had a defining moment yet this fall, but says his playoff experience from last season helps him stay locked in. “It helps me stay focused and not listen to other distractions,” he explained.

His focus extends beyond the field, too. A three-time Honor Roll student, Oslavskyi prides himself on being able to balance schoolwork, football, and his new long-snapping responsibilities. “I just find the time in my day to do it,” he said.

When asked who else on Libertyville fans should keep an eye on, Oslavskyi pointed to a teammate who’s already turning heads. “I would say people should keep their eyes on Kaden Butt. He worked hard during the offseason and is already doing great things.”

For Oslavskyi, recruiting is about more than just film. He hopes coaches see the intangibles he brings to a program. “I would say my game film might not be catching coaches’ attention, but I think my character should stand out. I’m a hardworking person who will not give up if something is not going right.”

Away from football, Oslavskyi shows off a lighter side. He lists Kinnick Stadium as his dream place to play, fruit snacks as his go-to pregame fuel, and Drake and Lil Uzi Vert as his pregame soundtrack. If he weren’t playing football, he says he’d be on the basketball court. Asked to describe Libertyville football in one word? He doesn’t hesitate: “Fight.”

With that mentality and a growing skill set at both wide receiver and long snapper, Oslavskyi has positioned himself as a player to watch this fall and a prospect with upside for college programs looking for character, versatility, and drive.
