Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Libertyville High School wide receiver Vlad Oslavskyi made a strong statement during his junior season, playing a vital role in helping the Wildcats reach the second round of the Illinois state playoffs. A reliable and cerebral wideout, Oslavski has emerged as a player to watch in the Class of 2026.

“This season went great,” Oslavskyi said. “Me and my teammates made it to the second round of the playoffs, and I learned a lot of new things along the way.”

At 6 feet tall and 170 pounds, Oslavskyi combines strong fundamentals with a deep understanding of the game. Known for his ability to read defenses in real time, he prides himself on being a “route technician,” able to adjust on the fly and exploit mismatches. His favorite routes to run are choice routes — allowing him to outsmart defenders — but he also enjoys stretching the field vertically.

“I don’t really rely on one technique,” he said. “I just read the defense and go from there.”

Oslavskyi’s development has been fueled by a rigorous off-season training program. He’s in the weight room and on the field every morning with his team, focusing heavily on speed and agility work to become even more explosive off the line.

Off the field, he brings the same discipline to the classroom. He earned Honor Roll recognition in the first semester of his junior year, a reflection of his commitment to being a well-rounded student-athlete.

One of the highlights of the season for Oslavskyi came during Libertyville’s home playoff games — a moment he says was unforgettable. “It was special because the whole town came out to support us. That kind of energy stays with you.”

This summer, Oslavskyi will be attending several key recruiting events, including the Northwestern Camp, Lake Forest Mega Camp, and junior days at Carthage and North Central College. He’s also set to take part in virtual junior days with prestigious academic programs like Yale and Brown — a testament to his blend of athletic and academic potential.

College coaches should know they’re getting a team-first player with a tireless work ethic and strong football instincts. “I always put the team before myself,” Oslavskyi said. “Libertyville competes every Friday night. We’re disciplined, and we take pride in everything we do — on and off the field.”

As for who could be the next breakout player at Libertyville? Oslavskyi didn’t hesitate: “Nicholas Ori (C/O '26 WR/DB). He works incredibly hard during the offseason. I’m excited to see what he does next year.”
