Babanifesimi Opadele Whitney Young OL/DL Class Of 2024 5'5
Babanifesimi Opadele how was your junior season? I loved and hated my junior season. Why would that be? I made a lot of improvements in my game and achieved a lot of personal goals. But even with all that, I didn’t feel like I made a significant impact on the field. Something that really disappointed me. What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? I have always been prideful of my strength but not as much of my speed. Been working to improve both, but focusing more on speed while not neglecting my strength. What does football mean to you? Grown to love the sport and I love playing. It means a lot and playing as become a nature’ to me. Like eating and drinking water. How does Whitney Young look for the upcoming season? I will always say we look good for the upcoming season, from the coaching staff to players to managers. Everyone has been doing there part to prepare for the season and I see them. So I know we are going to go out and play our absolute best.
Who on Whitney Young is ready for a breakout season?
My brothers Joseph Clayton and Anthony Hood in my opinion are going to have spectacular seasons. But freshmen wise I think MJ Wood and Max Warner are in for a breakout season.
What do incoming Whitney Young freshmen players need to know about this football program?
We take heart over anything. You don’t have to be good coming in, but you need to be able to go balls to the walls in everything either during drills, practice and listening to instructions.
What do you like about playing in the trenches?
The physicality is definitely what I find most interesting. To get to hit someone that hard and throw them without getting in trouble
What goals do you have for yourself this season? 1. Play better than Tomi Bisiriyu a previous senior at Whitney Young 2. Get more pancake blocks 3. Get my first and many other sacks 4. Play an outstanding season to get noticed by coaches. 5. Bring my A game every game. 6. Motivate my teammates to do their best and to keep doing that even after I leave.
