Mark Forcucci how was your 2019 season? I think the season went really well last year. Even though there were a couple of games that got away from us early in the year and we ended up not making the playoffs, I believe that we were still a really good football team. Obviously we had younger guys at some of our skill positions but to see the progress that was made by those guys from the beginning to the end of the season was really promising. What do you like about playing QB? Being “the guy” out there on the field is definitely my favorite part. You’ve got to be a leader to your teammates and with that comes a lot of pressure and responsibility. This is also going to be my 3rd year playing quarterback for Wheaton North and the relationship that has been developed between me and my coaches is something that I really enjoy being a part of. We’ve established great camaraderie with each other which is really important. What should college coaches know about you? Coaches are always talking about the importance of being a coachable player. I think that idea is just as important as anything. I’m always applying what my coaches are telling me and doing my best to execute it at all times. And at the same time I am fully prepared to work as hard as I can to make myself and the players around me better. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I believe having the next play mentality has been my best trait so far this year. Last season it needed some work but being a junior now and having that year two confidence has really allowed me to stay more level headed and focus on making the next play. Who are some players on Wheaton North I should keep an eye out for this upcoming season? I could go on about the talented guys we’ve got on the team this year. Riley Dravet and Joe Swaray are some of our most talented seniors and leaders this year. Kaiden Libby and Brayton Maske are both returning starters from last year. Casey Morrison and Troy Hegranes who are our tight ends are both great players as well.
