Belay Brummel how was your junior season?
It was good, I learned a lot not really being able to play during the spring season because of COVID. I got to lead my team to the school's first home playoff game and got the win.
What was one of your favorite memories last season?
After losing to Joliet Catholic in playoffs I got to sit down with some of the seniors and talk about how the best parts of the season and it was very emotional. It just reminded me how close you get with your guys and to cherish the moments.
What should college coaches know about you?
I love football and I hate to lose.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I feel that my calm presence on the field and my ability to stay calm under pressure is my best attribute. And also, my ability to extend plays.
How does Wheaton Academy look for the upcoming season?
We look really good. Our program is at its best it’s ever been, last year we won our first home playoff game, and we will be using that momentum into this year. We lost a few key players, but I believe we have the players to reload and the coaches to put all of us in the right positions to succeed.
Who are some players we should keep an eye out for on the Wheaton Academy team this upcoming season?
Liam White, he’s a WR/CB he has started the past two years on varsity as a freshman and sophomore and will do the same this year. He is a playmaker on both sides of the ball, also a top recruit for lacrosse which makes it even more impressive how good he is at football. Next Breck Peacock he played during the end of this year in varsity and had big contributions, but this fall he will be a playmaker. Ethan Brunner is someone to watch on the D line and O line. Some young guys to keep an eye on is Stephen fellows at SS/RB and Brandon Kiebles at LB
