Ryan Novak Riverside-Brookfield Athlete Class of 2023 6'0 195

Ryan Novak how was your junior season? My junior season was great, it was definitely a journey. From the first game ending on a 49 yard field goal to the last against East St. Louis. There was a lot of ups and downs throughout the season with injuries and tough losses, but we handled it and took care of business the best we could. As for me though I felt like a was a lot more comfortable in my junior season then my sophomore and freshman season on varsity. I think the biggest thing for me was my understanding of football more and really how to play. As well as I felt stronger this year and was able to make more plays. What does football mean to you? Football means a lot to me. I started playing in the 1st grade and ever since than I fell in love with it. Football has taught me many life lessons I use today and am still learning from the game. It has taught me to overcome fears and realize who you are mentally and physically. Also, all of the relationships you get to experience from football from the coaches to the players even to the fans and kids watching you. It all means so much to me. What schools have you talked to so far?

I have talked to University of Wisconsin Platteville a little bit. As well as Erskine College and a coach from Dakota State reached out. Then I was introduced to the coach of North Central College. What should college coaches know about you? That I give it all I have on the field and off. I have a high motor and a drive to win, I hold myself and my teammates to a high standard to succeed. I’m also a leader and very vocal on and off the field. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I think my strongest trait on the football field is being able to lead and be vocal. As well as setting the tone of the game by playing hard and fast. What should incoming freshmen know about this Riverside Brookfield program? They should know we are a brotherhood here. Everyone is family who plays for the bulldogs. They should also know we hold each other accountable and whoever the new coach is we will get to work right away and come back stronger, faster, and better than before. The offseason has been going great for us as well we have had more kids in the weight room at all levels than I or any of the coaches have seen before.
