Gavin Tinch Prairie Ridge DT/DE 6'4 285 Class Of 2025

Gavin Tinch how was your sophomore season?

My sophomore season I felt like went very well, a strong improvement from my freshman year 100%.

How did it feel to go to state?

Going to state was an experience that was almost perfect, playing in Champaign was a blessing even seeing the 4A game was amazing. We came up extremely short and I'm going to be working hard to make sure next year it doesn't happen again.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

My strongest trait on the field that I display is my discipline and communication. Never jumping off the ball early is something we put into practice and value heavily, and it's something I would say I'm skilled at. For communication I'm vocal on the field and I feel like that's something I got better at towards the end of the season, especially in the state game.

What do you like about playing on the defense?

The best part of playing defense is the adrenaline rush you get, knowing you got to stop this offense in front of you, no excuses. That entire vibe just makes me feel very passionate and ready to get the job done.

What should college coaches know about you?

What College Coaches should know about me is I'm very selfless, I'm ready to put the program above and do what is necessary to succeed. I'm relentless and on the field, I fear no man, And I am always willing to put the work in to be the very best.

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?

The part of my game I'm going to get better at is my speed, putting that together with power would be amazing for me. Also, my pass rush moves so I stay sharp for next season.

What do you like about playing on the trenches?

The best part about the trenches is the violence that takes place, it's honestly the best part. This is where it all takes place, the entire defense depends on the line. And I will make sure my job is done.

How special was it to watch Tyler Vasey this season?

Watching Tyler Vasey play was like a fever dream, it felt almost unreal. I honestly really look up to him, he brings that energy to practice to get all the guys rowdy and hyped up. And if it's a Friday night he's getting that job done and running for 200+ yards almost every game.

Who is one player on Prairie Ridge that going to have a breakout season next season?

A player to watch out for is Drake Tomasiewicz, watching him catch the ball over so many DB's heads this year was incredible.
