Aleks Popovic how was your spring season? To sum up such an odd year, it was great! Although our season was cut short to only 6 games, we were all still able to practice everyday with one another and get better. We were lucky to have gotten any amount of football, so we used all the time we had to work hard in preparation for each game. Now we all look forward to our final season as a team to be able to work hard and compete, and to really show what Lake Zurich is all about. What does football mean to you? Football to me is more than just a sport itself. The game represents so much more than just how strong or fast you are. It takes hard work and determination to play football. The game is an opportunity for anyone willing to work hard enough. What I love about it is that it’s not just what is on the field, but everything off of it as well. Anything you do outside of football can determine what kind of player you’ll be. Hard working in school to get good grades will translate into football by working hard to study the play book. Working hard in the gym during the off season will translate into the game on the field with how hard you hit and how strong you are. You work hard in silence and showcase your abilities when the time comes. Football means more than the world to me, it is a great opportunity to achieve success, all through dedication and non stop hard work! What should college coaches know about you? That I am willing to do whatever it takes. To work how ever hard it takes and more. I am never satisfied, always grateful of course, but never satisfied. I work endlessly to get better everyday; both on and off the field. I strive to be the best I can be in the classroom, weight room, and on the field. As well as being the best person I can be character wise, weather that be in my own home as the oldest sibling or out in public by helping anyone I can. I work as hard as I can regardless of the circumstance, comfortable or not, I always work get better. If I am needed in another position, I will learn it and be the best at it. I love to compete and never shy away from a challenge. I will always step up to be the first and work hard to be a leader, because at the end of the day, football is a team sport and to be a great team you must have great players. I lead by example in hopes that my teammates work hard too! What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My character. By showing up every single day ready to work harder than the day before and to get better every day. My grit and determination to be the best and to win and succeed. I leave everything out on the field because you never know when it may be the last chance. As well as my lead. I make sure that all my teammates are doing good and ready to work so that we all succeed together! Work hard, play hard! And overall just loving to compete, no matter how good or big the other team may be. Always being ready to compete! How does Lake Zurich look for the upcoming season? We are looking good. By working hard in the off season all our players are getting better. And with last season, we were given a chance to build that team chemistry for this upcoming season. Once we get back on the field and start practicing together I believe everything will run smoothly and we will truly represent Lake Zurich when the season starts!
