Luke Van Voorhees how was your Junior season? Well it was actually my first year ever playing football. I got recruited on to the team, and overall I felt like I improved a ton over the season. I definitely wished we could have done better as a team, but for me personally I had a great time learning the sport and getting better. What would you tell a student who has never played football but want to come out for the upcoming season? I would tell them to just give it a try. Football is not for everyone and that’s fine but if you really think you like the sport you will definitely enjoy playing and learning the game. What schools have you talked to so far? Mainly just NIU, Elon University and St. Norbert college as of right now What should college coaches know about you? I think college coaches should know that even though I’m new to the sport, I’m very hardworking in the classroom and on the field which allows me to pick up things quickly. I also think they should know that I will give everything my best effort all the time. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I think my mental toughness, I don’t get caught up on bad plays I just focus on what’s going on and stay locked in throughout the entire game. What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? I think there’s a lot I need to work on, but I definitely need focus on getting my footwork and balance better going into next year.
