Talking With Stevenson WR Veer Patel Class Of 2024

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Veer Patel Stevenson WR/DB Class Of 2024 5'11 160

Veer Patel how is your offseason going so far? So far, my offseason has been busy with lacrosse and lifting while also training for football. I attended The Stage showcase early in May and just recently came back from the Lindenwood mega camp and started my first day of summer practice today. How was the first day of practice? Today it was very fundamental with our new Offensive coordinator. Weather was hot today and we had a team lift right before that we all crushed. How was your junior season? My junior season didn’t go as great as I wanted it to go as I was stuck behind two seniors on the depth chart. I wasn’t able to build as much film as I would’ve liked to which leaves my varsity tape very minimal.

What does football mean to you? To me football means a lot. I’ve been playing since 4th grade while playing two years of flag football before that. While playing flag football at a young age I was able to be coached by my dad for those two years. At that young of an age I was trying out multiple sports but football stuck with me and I then went out for tackle football. After that it kept growing and growing and eventually became a passion with big dreams. What should college coaches know about you? What I think college coaches should know about me is that while I don’t have much varsity tape right now I plan to change that. I’ve been putting in the work on and off the field to get my name out there especially with the 5 camps I have and will be attending for the remainder of camp season. If I can get a chance I will dedicate myself to an opportunity to fulfill and go beyond expectations. I think they should also know that I value my teammates. I’ve been playing with those guys since freshman year and some even all the way back to the 7th grade and couldn’t ask for a better group.

What game are you most looking forward to this upcoming season? This season I would have to say our game against Warren. We were in a close battle against them during the season last year and lost first round to them in the playoffs. Winning that game would show that Stevenson shouldn’t be overlooked.
