Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Steven Armbruster, St.Rita, Quarterback

Class Of 2026 6'0" 180lbs GPA:4.3

Steven, how did your sophomore season go?

I had a great start on the sophomore level. I was given the opportunity to start on varsity the second half of the season, and finished with a Chicago Prep Bowl championship.

Being brought up to Varsity as a sophomore starter-that is a huge role-What was the most memorable moment for you?

Our team clinching an IHSA playoff berth in my first start.

You are a multi-sport athlete, playing on both your Varsity football and basketball team, and you maintain a 4.3 GPA-that's awesome!

For me, success in the classroom is just as important as being a successful athlete.

What do you like about playing QB?

I like the responsibility of leading the offense, and knowing that my teammates can trust me to make plays.

What does your off-season training look like?

Team workouts Monday, Wednesday, and Friday mornings, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday team lifts after school, twice a week training at GPS, and quarterback training with QB1BLISS.

What are your off-season goals?

Enhance team chemistry and make sure we do everything we can to help be prepared for a successful season.

Do you plan on attending any camps this summer?

Miami University Academic Mega Camp, Chicago Regional FBU Camp, and the College Coaches Showcase Camp in Waukegan.

What should college coaches know about you?

No one will outwork me.

You've been around football and playing football most of your life, what does football mean to you?

To me football is more than a game. It requires hard work and dedication. Football is an all the time thing, not just sometimes.

If there is one player that you would say this is going to be his year, who would you say?

If I had to pick just one, I would say Walter Jones, WR/CB Class of 2026.
