Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
Corey Phillips how has your season been so far?
My season had been going really well. My team is 4-1 and on a 4 game win streak. I have 756 total yards and 9 touchdowns averaging 9 yards per carry.
What should college coaches know about you?
They should know that I am a competitor and a hard worker, who is determined to be successful. I am a very versatile back who can catch, block, run north/south, be physical and has the ability to make big time plays whenever my number is called.
What does football mean to you?
Football means a lot to me. The energy that you feel when playing the game is not seen in any other sport. I always dreamed of playing college football. I always look up to the all time greats in the NFL, such as Walter Payton and Barry Sanders.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I think my strongest trait is my explosiveness and speed. Once I reach the second level it is hard for defenders to catch me.
What motivates a Corey Phillips?
I am motivated because I am never satisfied and always want to be considered one of the best. I believe that I can always improve my game and will always out work the competition so I can reach my full potential.
What part of your game do you feel you need to work on in the offseason?
I feel like I need to get stronger so that I can be an even more physical running back. I will also work on my footwork so I can make cuts even faster than they are now with no wasted time. I also feel like I can always get faster.
Who else on Kaneland should I be on the lookout for?
Some of the seniors you should be looking out for Sam Pryor, Eric Teran, Jack Mcintire and Markus Suggs. Sam Pryor is one of the best Linemen in the State. Another player to look out for is Junior Sam Gagne. He is one of our biggest play makers each week. Some Underclassmen to look out for are freshman Aric Johnson (WR/RB/DB/ Returner) and Troyer Carlson (QB). Aric has been one of our best players in the receiving and return game as a freshman. Troyer has stepped up a lot this season leading our team to victories.
