Braxton Bartz how was your junior season? I feel my junior season went pretty well. As a team we went 9-0 in the regular season for the first time ever. We definitely had some doubters at the start of the season who didn’t think we could succeed, so doing what we did felt good of course. We did end up coming up short in the playoffs in the second round, but I wouldn’t trade this season for anything. We had a great group of players and really great bond as a team. For myself, I felt I had a solid junior season. I was able to help our team succeed coming down with catches, and blocking. I was utilized as a Slot receiver, tight end, and even played some H-Back. I ended up finishing with 34 Receptions, 376 Yards, and 7 Touchdowns. What does football mean to you Football really means everything to me. In kindergarten I fell in love with the game and that love has never changed. Football has always been my favorite sport and will continue to be. From growing up watching Ohio State and Braxton Miller to playing Pop Warner I could never get enough of it. What should college coaches know about you? I think that college coaches should just know that I’m all for the sport. I love the game with such a passion. I also have good grades and do great in school. I have been High Honor Roll all semesters in high school so far and am currently sitting at a 5.46/5.0 GPA. I also have been a 3 sport athlete all my life up until this year. (Still playing 2) What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I believe my strongest trait on the football field is being able to secure the catch. I have always felt I have strong but soft hands. I know my quarterbacks trust me and believe I can come down with a contested catch. Weather it’s a ball in stride or a jump ball I know I can come away with a catch even when a defender is on me. What do you like about playing receiver? Receiver has always been my favorite position. Even as a kid playing running back and quarterback at first I always dreamed to be a receiver. There’s nothing like coming down with a big catch for your team or making a big play. It’s just such an exciting and fun position with a lot of expectations. What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? During this offseason I have already began to work on speed and agility, along with continuing catch as many balls as I can. I feel these are super important components to my game, and always need to continue to build on them. I will also continue to build strength.
