Evan Downer how is your season going so far? It’s going well the offense is having a great season as we lead our conference in rushing yards and points per game. I recently received my first offer from the University of Akron. We also recently earned ourselves a spot in the IHSA 8A playoffs. How does it feel get your first offer from Akron? It’s a big accomplishment to me and it’s been something I’ve wanted ever since I started playing the game.
What does football mean to you?
Football to me means that with hard work comes great things. It’s a sport to have fun and be competitive simultaneously.
What should college coaches know about you?
I feel that they should know that im a physical player and that I strongly believe practice makes perfect.
What do you like about playing in the trenches?
Playing in the trenches allows me to hit someone hard and not get flagged for it. I like that OL/DL is essential for when it comes down to winning or losing a game.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My strength is my strongest trait as well as my long body and not many other tackles move as well as I do at high school level.
What goals do you have for yourself rest of the season? My goals are to finish the season conference champions as well as make deep into the playoffs. I also hope to have a lot of offensive success in the playoffs scoring on every chance my team gets.
