Talking With Nazareth 6'5 Big Man William Beargie Class Of 2023 - Name You Must Know

So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

William Beargie Nazareth Class of 2023 6'5 270 OL/DL

William Beargie how was your junior season? We started off rocky, but thanks to the coaches and hard work from the players we clinched the playoffs. The first game was a real wake up call for me because I realized that my mindset was off. I needed to embrace the leadership role and help my team the best way I can. While I didn’t have the flashy plays, I took pride knowing that the double or even triple teams I took on allowed for my backers to be free and make the plays. I got put on the ground a couple times, but the great thing about football is I get to put someone on the ground the next play. I look forward to the future. What does football mean to you? Football means so much to me. It means family. The community built at Nazareth is second to none and the coaches and players all have each others backs. It means competition. I love competing every day to see if I’ve gotten better. It means an escape. No matter what’s going on in my life, as soon as I step on the field I become a different person. I forget about all my problems and play the game I love. And lastly it means hard work. No matter who you are if you work hard enough at football you will see success and I’m hoping my hard work pays off soon. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I will put 110% effort into everything I do. The only way to get places is by working hard and I truly believe in that. That’s why I work so hard off the field so on the field I can shine. They should also know I love making plays, but I am also content with taking on double teams for the team's success. I’ll do whatever I have to do to see the field and make my dreams come true. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My strongest trait on the football field is my leadership. I can be a vocal leader when needed and also can lead by example. I won’t get down on guys but instead encourage them and bring out the best in them. Last season I embraced that leadership role and I look forward to embracing it even more next season. What do you like about playing in the trenches? I like how physical and important the linemen who play in the trenches are. We are often overlooked, but as the saying goes “so goes the line, so goes the team”. While receivers may get targeted 5-10 times a game, we get to hit people every play. It’s the best position in football and I wouldn’t want to play any other position.
