Grant McAtee Mt. Zion WR Class Of 2024 6'3 180
Grant McAtee, how was your junior season?
My junior year was a great year, even though we came up shorter than we wanted to in the playoffs I think our team did really well and I’m proud of everyone.
What has been your favorite memory of the season?
My favorite memory has been bonding with my teammates and just getting more comfortable every single week playing with them. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
I think my strongest trait is my hands and my ability to use my size and my body to out-leverage the defenders. What should college coaches know about you?
College coaches should know that I am a leader in whatever I am doing, that I am a hard worker no matter what, and I am comfortable in whatever roll I’m asked to do. What is your favorite route to run?
My favorite route to run is definitely a comeback. Me and Makobi definitely worked on the timing on that and it is perfect. It worked a lot this year whenever we needed to get the first down in 3rd and medium situations.
How good can this Mt. Zion team be for the upcoming season?
Our team can be great, we have a very stacked junior class this year and some other underclass men that helped out a ton, but we need to realize that it is going to take work to be a great team. I think it will be very exciting how we can grow as a team and work to be the best team we can be next year. What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?
I really plan on working on my speed and my ability to drop my hips at any point in a route, and also getting a lot stronger and more explosive. Who had a breakout season on Mt. Zion this season?
Brayden Trimble, definitely had a breakout season. He is a stud athlete and a great football player; he is one of the hardest workers I’ve met and thanks to him pushing me hard he has made me a better football player. Makobi also had an amazing season he is a smart quarterback, and he took a big leap this season and now with finally a full season under his belt I think he will have an even better season next year.
