John Flynn Metea Valley WR Class of 2022 6'0 170
John Flynn how was your Spring Season? It was great to finally be able to compete with my team and get back on the field. Our team had a lot of young players and the short season was a good way to get us ready for the fall. Our record wasn’t what we wanted it to be but our young team got experience playing with each other and I was happy with how I performed in the spring. What does football mean to you? It’s been apart of my life since I was in 1st grade and it has installed a lot of values that I would have never learned without the game. It’s helped me become who I am today and make memories and friendships throughout my life. It’s always been more than a game to me and one of the most impactful parts of my life. What schools have you been talking to so far? I’ve talked to UW Whitewater, Augusta, Illinois Wesleyan, and Drake. What should college coaches know about you? I’m a team first player and always wanting to lead and help my teammates. Being a captain as a junior meant a lot to me and I’ve always let my team know I’m there for them. I have a really great football IQ and it definitely helps me be successful against my opponents. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel my route running and understanding the situations were in when we have the ball. I’m great at finding the open zone and getting open after a play is broken and finding grass for my quarterback to get me the ball. How does Metea Valley look for the upcoming season? I’m excited about our team. We have a really strong senior class that’s going to be huge for us. We have some young guys that will be a big part of our team. We’re looking forward to putting all our pieces together to have a successful season.
