So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Cale Kimbro Mattoon LB/ATH Class Of 2025 6'3 200

Cale Kimbro how is your season going so far? Not as well as we’d hoped for, but we keep improving each week. What does football mean to you? Football isn’t just a game it teaches you hard work, dedication, and sacrifice. All of these skills will help me later in life. What should college coaches know about you? I take pride in being the best player I can be, not only for myself but for my teammates. That not only takes place in football but every other sport I play. I lead by example, and I am dedicated to the weight room to prevent injury and better my skills. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My strongest trait is my versatility. I’ve played multiple positions on both side of the ball during my high school career. From a ILB perspective I think my speed is a benefit.

What do you like about playing on the defense? I’d rather tackle somebody than get tackled. As my dad always say, "be the hammer not the nail". What goals do you have for yourself rest of the season? Some goals I have for the rest of this season are lead my conference is tackles and push my team to do the best we can the rest of the season.

Who else on Mattoon is having a breakout season? Jake Butler WR, Jack Lapeyrouse OL/DL, and Slater Trier QB.
