Russell Cunningham how was your junior season? My junior season went very well but ended a little disappointingly. There is definitely a ton of improvement for me to make and I have been working a ton to not let what happened last season happen again. How has your offseason been so far? It has been going really well actually. I have made many weight room and field work improvements. What does football mean to you? Football is a game that brings so much opportunity and meaning to my life. It’s a group of 11 men at a time that have worked together for months and years on end. Over and over, making themselves the absolute best they can to go out and perform. To be the absolute best version of themselves, not only as football players, but also as men and brothers. What should college coaches know about you? I am an extremely hard worker not even only in football but all aspects of life. I am extremely agile and fast for my size. I am 285 pounds but have been told many times by numerous coaches that I move like I’m 50 pounds less. I always put extra work in also, whenever my team is lifting I always try to get extra reps whenever I can. Or if I finish the workout early I’m asking for more things to do. I am 100% committed to doing whatever I can to make my dreams come true.

What do you like about playing in the trenches? I love the trenches though, it’s where the most fun is, you get to be physical. As my coach always says you have the rare chance to do almost what we you want to another man and not have any punishment. You can throw this man to the ground and be praised for it. I love it for that reason, personally there is no position more physically demanding and fun. What game are you most excited for this upcoming season? Week 1: Lincoln-Way East What goals do you have for yourself this season?

Without a doubt, to win state. I believe o-line is the most important part to any winning team. So, it’s almost like winning comes down to what teams' line is better. So, I want to be the best.

Who is the funny guy on the Kenwood team? Not going to lie the entire OL is funny. Every day at practice we always laughing and joking around, along with some other friends.
