So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Brodan Lewis Highland WR Class of 2023 6'0 180

Brodan Lewis how is your season going for you so far? Well Personally very well, I’m very blessed to be able to play my senior season and compete with my team. 22 seniors this year who’ve been playing together since we were little. Pretty solid team who’s going to make a run at State. I’m very blessed to receive a PWO at Carbondale and an offer from Missouri Baptist! Really looking forward to playing with my family. Upset with the loss with Edwardsville, had opportunities to win but in the end, it's going to make us a better team for the playoffs. Whart should college coaches know about you? I’m a slot receiver who can play out wide. I take the most pride in my Blocking abilities in the run game, and my sharp route running. Blocking is what can get me on the field early in college and my crisp routes are what’s going to get me open. No one’s going to put work me. On the field, the weight room, the classroom, or off the field. How good can this Highland squad be for the rest of the season? We have our work cut out for us, but we expect a deep run in the playoff and a shot at the State Championship. Our offense is deep with 10 guys who can score on any given play. Lead by 4-year varsity starting QB Brent Wuebbels, who holds the career passing record at highland. Undoubtedly the toughest player in the State of Illinois. Senior lead offensive line with studs, including Kentucky Wesleyan commit Travis Gieseking. Travis Porter at running back who has the best vision in the state. Cade Altadonna and I leading the receiver's room. Our defense lead by captain Brenden Gelly at Middle linebacker and Strong Safety Cameron Willis. We’re a deep team with the highest expectations. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? Mentally my confidence in not only myself and my abilities but in my team as well. I feel my blocking and route running set me apart from anyone else. I may not be the best athlete or a 4.4 40 guy but that doesn’t hinder my ability to get open or open a hole in the run game. Favorite route to run? Goalline comeback.
