Brent Wuebbels Highland QB Class of 2023 6'1 170

Brent Wuebbels how was your season last year? Our season started out rough with being 1-4, but we got to 5-4 through some tough games which helped us get a spot in playoffs. We ended up losing our first game of the playoffs and we were more than unsatisfied. What does football mean to you? Football means a lot to me, it’s not just a sport it’s a brotherhood. There’s no sport that I’ve ever been apart of that compares to the bond you get in football. What should college coaches know about you? That I’m one of the hardest workers they will ever meet. I find ways to make my game better every day. I never give up no matter the circumstances or how hard things get. I also feel that what makes me great is that I’m smart and I understand the game better than those around me. What do you like about playing QB? What I like about playing QB is that I get to control the pace of the game. I also enjoy having the game in my hands on the offensive side because it makes every little detail matter. One tiny mistake at the QB position could cost your team a game. I enjoy having that pressure on me because I know in times that I’m being pressured I can be calm and collective. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel that my strongest trait on the field is my accuracy and my ability to understand the defense. It’s easy to pick apart a defense when you completely understand what’s going on. After that it’s just being accurate with your throws and making sure that you are on time. I also feel that my ability to extend plays and never give up on a play is important How does Highland look for the upcoming season? We’re looking very good for this upcoming season, but there is still room to grow. We have a very strong number of juniors who are going to be seniors which always helps. We also have a lot of returning starters across the board. Having returning starters who are experienced is always a good thing. Who else on Highland should I keep an eye out for? There’s multiple guys you need to keep your eye out for but just a few to name are Travis Gieseking-OG/DT, Brody Lewis WR/LB, Cade Altadonna WR/FS, Brenden Gelly FB/MLB, and Travis Porter-RB
