Darryl Overstreet how was your Spring Season? I feel like I had a great spring season given the circumstances. Me and my team went 3-2 and we played a great game against Antioch that came down to the wire. Me personally I had a great season throwing for 962 yards 13tds and only 4 ints. I got all conference and all county honors. What does football mean to you? Football is apart of me. I grew up watching my father play as well as play some sort of organized football since I was 4. It’s my first love outside of family. This year during the pandemic there was nothing more I looked forward to than to get to go out there on a Friday night representing my town and getting to battle for 2 hours with my brothers. Football gives me a very indescribable feeling that would be hard to live without What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel like my strongest trait on the football field is my leadership and composure throughout the course of a game. There have been numerous times where my team has been down and we have rallied back into the game just like we did against Antioch as well as in the nail bitter we had against round lake this year that went into overtime. I was able to keep cool and my composure spread to my teammates and we just kept rolling. It’s the same thing when we had to put together summer workouts since we didn't have a plan. Me and my other captains were able to get everyone on the same page and it showed when the season came around What do you like about playing QB? I love the feeling that I get when I get in the huddle to call the play and the after the call the we all work as one unit. Yes I love to just spin the ball but when I get get my team to work as a cohesive unit and we are successful in working as a team it’s one of the best feelings in the world What should college coaches know about you? I feel like coaches should know that I’m an honor roll student that’s apart of the National Honors Society. My education is a huge part of me. Also as a quarterback and a football player in general, my work ethic towards this game that I love so deeply is something that I cherish. I’m willing to go out every single day and work whether is just me or with a huge group of guys.
