Connor McLaughlin how was your junior season? My junior season was a lot of fun, although it didn’t go quite as planned as the goal is to always win the state title, we fought until the very end and the underclassman won’t forget those seniors and everything, they did for us. What does football mean to you? Football is an extremely important thing in my life. Though football I’ve learned many life lessons like how to deal with adversity and I’ve built friendships that I’ve had for years and I’m certain I’ll have them for years to come. What should college coaches know about you? I would like college coaches to know that football is more than just a game to me, and that I will always have the teams best interests in mind, and I’m always willing to work hard and learn from my coaches and teammates to achieve the teams goal. What do you like about playing fullback? My favorite parts of playing fullback is that fullbacks usually have an important role on the field. The fullback is either lead blocking, protecting the quarterback, or running the ball. I also love how every play the fullback is hitting someone. What goals do you have for yourself this season? Goals that I have for myself is to be an all regional and possibly all state player for the hitters this year. I also hope to be an asset on the defensive side of the ball if I get reps on both sides of the ball. But in the end the real goal is to win the state title but that is a team effort. What game excites you the most this upcoming season? York is a team that Glenbard West had beaten for more than a decade straight and we lost to them last year. This year I’m certain our team will start the streak again with a win against York in Week 6. And not just me but the whole team is looking forward to playing them again.
