Michael Champagne Glenbard South QB Class of 2024 5'10 160

Michael Champagne how was your sophomore season?

My sophomore season went great. We went 8-1 in conference and made it to the second round of the playoffs. Not the outcome we wanted to go out on for the season, but we built great chemistry and saw major growth throughout the season

What does football mean to you?

Football is the ultimate team sport. I love being around my guys, having fun, and winning games. I can’t wait for my junior year I think we’ll do big things next year.

What do you like about playing QB?

I love playing QB because of the responsibility it takes. Most games are decided based off how you play. I enjoy the control you get at this position.

What should college coaches know about you?

College coaches should know that I’m both a passer and runner. I feel I’m able to get the job done on the ground as well. I think this will significantly come into play next season.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

My strongest trait on the field in my opinion is my anticipation. A lot of the times I have a good idea of where I’m going pre snap and I’m able to throw guys open.

What goals do you have for yourself in the upcoming season?

My main goal for next season is to make a further run in the playoffs. My sophomore season went great, but I was very disappointed that we went down in the second round.

Who on Glenbard South is going to have a breakout season in 2022?

Jalen Brown is going to do serious damage next season. He’s a 6’2 210 pound running back that’s filling in now that Trevor is going off to college. He’s fast, explosive, and has a high motor. I’m excited to see how he’ll do.
