Augustus Winkler how is your season so far? My season is going really well so far. I’ve set 2 school records this year. Most tackles in a game (24) and most solo tackles in a game (15). I feel like I’ve been getting better as the year progresses, and our team has really come together these past weeks. What does football mean to you? Football is a very important part of my life. I love the sport, the brotherhood between the players, I love the competitiveness to be a winning team and I love pushing myself to become a better player and captain. What should college coaches know about you? I’m hard working and dedicated on and off the field. I lead by example and push myself in the classroom and on the field.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My football IQ, I’m very good at reading the play and reacting to it. My quickness puts me in the right position to make a play.
What has been your favorite memory so far this season?
During my homecoming game, I had a lot of family come to see me play and I had a 29 yard pick 6 to put us up 21-0
What goals do you have for yourself rest of the season? Keep pushing myself and my teammates to be the best we can be. To finish the season off strong and make a strong run in the playoffs.
