Suleiman Abuaqel Fenwick ER/DE/ATH Class of 2022 6'2 215
Suleiman Abuaqel how is you season going for you so far? All praise is due to god for everything that I have accomplished and will accomplish, I am nothing without god. I am really happy with the way my season has been going. Obviously I’m never satisfied but I’ve been able to help my team by making plays and help put my teammates by putting them into position to make plays by doing my job, which is much more important than individual performances. I’ve made plays on some of the best o lineman in Ilinois so I’ve proved a lot to myself as a player as well. As much as I would like to talk about my season however, the job isn’t close to finished and the season will not be a success until Fenwick has won a state ship. What does football mean to you? Football has been a huge part of my life since I was 6 years old. Football is my passion, my way to vent yet grow at the same, and an opportunity to build a family. Also football is an outlet for me to help people all around the world and building awareness to issues if I become a big time player down the road. What schools have you been talking to so far? I have been talking to Air Force, St. Thomas, Cornell, Illinois, Navy, Brown, Harvard, and a lot of division 2 schools are very interested as well. What should college coaches know about you? Colleges should know that I’m going to be the hardest worker and leader on their team. The drive and work ethic that I’ve developed from my parents and grandparents as well as my “why” forced me to work as hard as I can at everything that I do, and some people just talk about hard work and stuff but I truly do love the process. I have a very unique personality and I do whatever is best for the team at all times. I am a crazy football player in a good way, I can turn the switch on before a game and turn it off when the clock hits 0. My size may to be ideal for my position, but I guarantee that I will dominate at whatever position that play because I love the trenches and I will do whatever it takes to be the best. What was one of your favorite memories so far this season? One of my favorite memories of the season has to be after defeating St. Ignatius. It is a huge rivalry game and the opposition was talking a lot trash on social media before the game. We defeated them on their homecoming, senior night, won the CCL championship for our division that night, and gave them their first loss, which was pretty great. Also the celebration with the team and fans after the game was great as well.
