Ruben Howell Belleville West Class of 2021 LB/ER 6'3 224

Ruben Howell how was your 2019 season? Overall it was a growing year for us. We had a lot of good spurts of the team that we are capable of becoming. A lot of guys that didn’t have a lot of playing time on the varsity level including myself had to step up. I worked really hard on the offseason going into the 2019 season. I also grew a inch and gained about 15 pounds. I overall had a great season as a pass rusher and finished with 10 sacks and 16 TFLs. What schools have you talked to so far? Right now I am currently talking to Brown University, Yale, Quincy University, Rhodes College, Rose Hulman University, Kenyon College, Lindenwood in St.Charles, Washington University in St. Louis. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I take my academics very seriously. I pride myself on not only being the best football player that I can be but being the best person that I can be. I love to challenge myself with anything that I do. I also really enjoy building computers, I’ve always found them intriguing how all of those small parts come together to make a well organized machine. Kind of like a football team. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My hands, height, lateral quickness, and speed off the ball are my strongest traits on the field.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason? I’ve been working on perfecting my pass rushing game. I’ve also been in the gym almost everyday and I’ve gained about 20 pounds so I’m up to 225. I’ve also been working on my pass drops because I will he playing some linebacker this year.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
