Casey Richter how was your junior season? It was great. We went to the first round of the playoffs. I hope we can build on that and make if further next season. What does football mean to you? Football is very exciting for me. For me, football means Friday Night Lights, big crowds and a lot of pure, raw emotion. The key to be successful is that a team has to work towards the same goal every day for 4-5 months. I think it’s always interesting how you need to prepare a little differently every week. Against some teams we pass more and against others we run more, and others may be loaded may be loaded up with tons of great talent. There’s no one way to win but if we work hard as a team, good will happen. What schools have you talked to so far? Drake, Northern State, Upper Iowa, Dayton, Valpo, and Western Illinois. What should college coaches know about you? That I am very coachable, hardworking, and a fun kid to be around. At 6’5 205 there is a lot to work with and to add to my frame. This is what happened to my older brother Ethan, who is a freshman at Auburn and is currently No. 5 in the world for U20 (under 20 years old) in the shot put. He didn’t go into his freshmen with this kind of marks but has excelled tremendously. I know the same thing will happen with me. How was the EFT/BOOM Showcase for you last Tuesday? It was great. I improved in my vertical (32 in) and my 40(4.83). The talent level is very high at the EFT/BOOM showcases, which I like a lot because it pushes me to improve. It was also a great night out that evening. So there were a lot of awesome catches.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? Because of my frame I would say blocking. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? To be a key contributor to my team, make the playoffs, and to show everyone that the tall man who can jump high is always open!
