Declan Boutross Evanston OL Class Of 2024 6'3 285

Declan Boutross how was your junior season? I would say my junior season went pretty well I was one of the only starting junior offensive linemen. Throughout the season I became a better football player. I went through a couple challenges through the season for example, I was sick week 4 against Barrington all week and wasn’t able to practice but then finally felt better during game day and came out and played a good game. Overall, I was happy with the season I had but knew I could do better and with my senior year coming up I plan to do better. What does football mean to you? What football means to me is something that drives me in my life to be better and work harder it’s a passion. I'm able to build relationships learn life lessons and be a better person it’s something that deeply important to me.
What should college coaches know about you?
I believe my college coaches should know I’ll work hard to build relationships, Im a great leader, I like to learn as much as possible. I have played football since I was 6. I have played center since then. Going into my senior year. I’m getting ready to play left tackle which I’m excited to do and build versatility for the next level.
What do you like about playing in the trenches?
I like the technique, learning how to make person across move without them knowing what do. I like firing off the line and controlling where some goes without against their will. Being able to look someone in the eye and figure out their next move.
What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?
My smarts being able to see the field
How does Evanston look for the upcoming season?
I believe we will better than last year and have a winning record.
What goals do you have for yourself this season? I plan to be best guy on the field and prove what I can be at the next level. Show my leadership and mentor the younger kids coming up. Make sure every one on the offensive line and the team is on the same page. Have a winning attitude and be ready to beat that guy across from me. Study hard on and off the field so I can be the best student athlete.
