So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Coach Big Pete's Take

Eddie has been one of the most talked about 2023 recruits at college camps this summer with college coaches. Mr. Vrdolyak is seen as a highly scouted recruit when we get into the fall season. His overall aggressiveness and on field IQ are what set him apart. Technique is very impressive along with his blocking and ability to square his feet. His technique and ability to dip his hips on the defensive line is also impressive. He is truly a coach's type of player and does what is asked of him.

Welcome back Eddie Vrdolyak, has your recruitment been so far? It’s been going pretty well so far. I’ve visited a few Ivy League schools but wasn’t able to go to several other junior days because I got Mono. It has been really great getting to know various coaches and learning about their universities and football programs.

What are some of the schools that have made a great impression on you?

Several schools have made a great impression. St. Thomas really seems like a great school and program. I was really impressed with Dartmouth, Yale and Lehigh when I visited this past spring. I’m scheduling a visit to Dayton and Youngstown State as well.

What would you like to major in?

I would like to major in pre-law if it’s available. My ultimate goal is to eventually go to law school and become an attorney.

What part of your game have you been working on in the summer? I have been primarily working on Defensive Tackle this past Spring and summer along with TE.

What do you like about playing in the trenches?

I like that there is physical contact on every play and the fact that that is usually where the game is won and lost.

How does St. Rita look this summer so far?

I think we look really good. Obviously, we lost some great players, but we have a lot of great seniors along with some very talented underclass men. And our coaching staff is as good as it gets. They always get us prepared and put us in a position to win.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting

But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
