Manny Howard how was your first week of practice? The first week of the season was a tough but fun one. Im starting to feel the energy level around OE rise and we are loving it. Competition between offense and gefense has been at the highest level, and I stay ready for all the smoke! What does football mean to you? Football first started out as a way to keep me busy after school and to help keep me in shape. As I’ve played over the years, I realized my god given talents and the hard work I’ve put in, allowed me to be in a position to play College Football and lord willingly after college to make a career off of it.
What should college coaches know about you? Coaches should know I lead by example, I pay attention to the littlest details, I understand the importance of diet and stretching. I’m a tenacious competitor that comes to play everyday. I’m hungry to play with the best and become the best. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My strongest trait on the football field is my intelligence and my knowledge of the opponent. Best believe I’m watching countless hours of film prior to Friday night. When I know my opponent there is no thinking or second guessing, I let my body go into autopilot and go make plays. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? This upcoming season I’m shooting for the stars, 100 tackle season is a challenge but very realistic for me. I’ve gotten so much better with my pass rush and blitz technique I expect 4 sacks out of myself. Although I will not be dropping back into deep coverage too often, 1 interception would be great.
What game are you most excited for this upcoming season? Awww man this is a tuff one. I’m extremely excited to play against waubonsie as the energy when we go there is electric and I played football for WV freshman year so I would love to beat my old team. Although I have to go with crosstown against Oswego High, 1,000+ fans, we are always the underdogs and I’m ready to show them that we run the O.
