So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Nolan Lazor QB Vernon Hills 6'5 180 Class of 2023

Nolan Lazor how was your junior season? My junior season went well. I faced lots of adversity during the season and summer leading up. I tore my labrum and required surgery March of last year, which ruined my off-season being in a sling most of it and even during the season having a limited number of throws every day. I'm really proud of what I was able to do during the season even with these setbacks and I think it was a great year of development. What does football mean to you? Football means a great deal to me. I've grown up around football with my dad having coached in the NFL my whole life. I think playing football teaches ideals and a work ethic that only these competitive sports can teach you. It also brings tons of people together. What should college coaches know about you? I'm a determined kid with a good work ethic. I have a really high potential and so much room to grow. Even after my injury my arm is feeling better than ever. I also have the grades and schooling to back up anywhere I would be able to play. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? In my opinion it's my leadership and arm. Having been in our system on varsity for two years now, I understand our offense and can commandeer the offense from the field. I also had some impressive throws down the field with pressure which are on my highlight tape. What do you like about playing QB? I like being in control. At quarterback I am able not only to use my physical ability but also my mental ability to lead the offense down the field as a well-oiled machine. There's also no better feeling in the world then connecting with a receiver in the end zone for a touchdown. How does Vernon Hills look for the upcoming season? We're looking great. We have a great group of guys with an incredible work ethic. Every player is working on bettering themselves. Me and the receivers are out throwing bettering our connection and are linemen are getting stronger. By the time the season rolls around we're going to have a great team out together.
