Kelly Watson York Athlete Class of 2023 6'0 180

Kelly Watson how was your spring season? My season was great. I was glad we finally got to have our season. As a team we finished 4-2 and we finished the season strong. I'm excited for the off season and to see what’s coming next for us. Lots of work to do still What does football mean to you? Football to me is a lifestyle. It’s something I’m very passionate about. To me football is more than just a game. I’ve grown up on the game ever since I was a little kid and always had dreams of playing in college and the NFL. I don’t know what id be doing if football wasn’t such a big part of my life. It’s just something I will always love. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I will give my all for the team and do whatever it is that’s best for the team. I can take criticism and handle pressure easily. I’m also a very coachable player. I will listen to coaches and take all advice and knowledge they have for me. I can also lead a team and can be that person to step up for everyone. Off the field I’m hard working pushing myself to the fullest. Very determined and dedicated to the game of football. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My speed definitely, my ability to make great cuts on the run and break tackles for a big gain. Also my receiver skills. I’ve been training over the summer with Kyle Prater so he’s definitely a big apart of why my route running is a big threat. I can catch from out the back field and I can line up in the slot and be a deep ball threat too.

How does York look for the upcoming season? These next few years are gonna be exciting for this team. York hasn’t been to the playoffs since 2010 and this is definitely the year to break the drought. I’m really looking forward to these next 2 seasons. I think we’re gonna one of the best teams in the West Suburban Conference for sure. The work these guys put in off the field is outstanding. We’re looking forward to competing this season and make ourselves known this year.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
