Colton Gumino what does football mean to you? Football means the world to me. Football is something I live, eat and breathe. I love everything about it: the teamwork, dedication, sportsmanship and the passion. How was your 8th Grade season? Elmhurst Eagles did not have a season! I decided to leave my family and friends and play spring football at IMG in Florida! They only have a High School Varsity and national team!! I played on the varsity team, it was a great experience for me and was the #2 QB on depth chart under a senior! What excited you the most about York Dukes football? York High School hasn’t been to the playoffs in over 12 years! I have set a goal when I was 10 to lead them to the playoffs and play with my older cousins Jack and Nolan ! I really like Coach Fitz, his offense is Ideal for me as I like to run as well as throw! The class in front of me are the best athletes I have played with and I am excited for when we are juniors and seniors ! I think coach Fitz has changed the environment at York and I looked forward to playing for him ! What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I have been working with Coach Christensen and Coach Preston since I was 7 probably over 1100 times! I think the both have taught me how to read defenses and the proper mechanics! I am very accurate and I can throw the deep ball around 65 yards! I think I get through my progressions very fast! I also have been running York’s offense for the last 2 years and have confidence in it!! What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season? I am the only player in school history to have a power 5 ( Iowa State ) offer coming into freshman year! Ohio States QB Coach Dennis told me I am their 2025 recruit and gave me his phone number on Tuesday (which was very cool ) You don’t have to put to that part, but thought I would tell you! My goal is to work hard and show the coach’s what I can do! Looking forward to getting to know the coaches better and look forward to meeting new teammates!
