Julian Toma how was your 2019 season?

Our team did great and we finished 7-2. It was a good learning experience of what it takes to play quarterback. It put me in positions that really challenged my skill set and gave me the opportunity to present everything I worked on in the off season.

How has your offseason been so far?

My off season so far has given me the opportunity to work hard on my training since we’ve had such a long time off. Working out and throwing often has been keeping me ready for what’s to come.

What does football mean to you?

Football means a lot to me, it has always been my dream to play football in college. When I was younger I was too scared to play since I thought everyone was bigger than I was and more experienced. Since I started playing football it has taught me life lessons, helped build my character and helped shape who I am today. Football has been a BIG part of my life for almost a decade now.

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?

Faster release of the ball, quicker feet, and being able to read the defense. I feel my pre-snap reads last season could have been better which would have opened up more opportunities in close games.

What should college coaches know about you?

I am confident that I can be the leader a college football team needs. The quarterback position is a natural leader position, and I believe I live up to the role.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

When my receivers have a question on a route or something is off in the formation, I try my best to slow down the game and get everyone on the right page. If an offense isn’t on the right page, the results will show.

What do you like about playing QB?

I have always enjoyed sports that involve throwing. My parents told me that ever since I picked up a ball at the age of 2 I had a passion for throwing. Ever since I started playing Quarterback I never looked back. Just the feeling of being in control of the offense and deciding what happens has always kept me playing the game. My idol has always been Tom Brady, so it inspires me that we play the same position.

What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?

To have fun playing the sport I love and to generate game tape for college exposure. I also look forward to getting a feel for the game speed, the reads, and the overall pace of varsity football. This shortened season will set us up for a great 2022 season run. I am just thankful that my teammates and I are getting the chance to play!
