This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
Justin Curry OPRF DT/DL Class Of 2024 6'2 255
Justin Curry, how was your junior season?
I'm not going to lie didn't go as I planned, but it's still a blessing to play for such an amazing team and program. I look to really improving myself and helping out the team in any way possible. What does football mean to you? Football means the world to me and frankly, I don't know where I would be without it I have been playing my whole life, and the relationships, and the family I've gained over the years have really made me love the game even more.
What schools have you talked to so far? So far I've talked to a couple of schools, Augustana, Clarke University, Missouri Baptist, Fort Lewis and a couple of others. What should college coaches know about you? I'm a very smart player and I know the game in and out. Also, I am a very tough player mentally not easily affected by negative things whether I'm on or off the field. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My strongest trait on the field is the ability to learn from my mistakes if I go too high and miss a tackle. I can guarantee the next time I will go low and bring the opponent to the ground. What do you like about playing in the trenches? This might sound crazy but what I love most about playing in the trenches is the pain and the physical part of it, knowing that if I do my job, taking on a double team or whatever it helps my teammate really motivates me to try my hardest.
What part of your game are you working on in the offseason? This offseason I've really been focusing on my speed and power, one weakness I feel I have is power. My goal is to try and fix that before my upcoming senior season. What goals do you have for yourself this upcoming season?
One of my main goals this season is consistency to be consistent, also to not get yelled at as much and do the right thing we implemented a new defense last year and it really stumped me for a while. I'm hoping to have a great season a playoff appearance would hurt, neither would a win over Glenbard West. Who is one player on OPRF that is slated to have a breakout season? A player on OPRF who I know for sure is going to have a breakout season is Jerimiah Williams this guy is one of the hardest-working players I've ever met. He is very underrated so when you play OPRF look out for that defensive lineman #97.
