Ryan Susnar OL Minooka Class of 2023 6'3 260
Ryan Susnar how was your season? Our season didn’t turn out the way we wanted it to, but we battled through adversity all year long. I was grateful to get the opportunity to play with a very special group of seniors. Getting to play in 2 playoff games with this group was amazing and it will be a moment I will never forget in my football career. What does football mean to you? Football is everything to me, I started playing again in high school and it changed who I was. Football has made me a better athlete and it gives me the opportunity to compete with a sport I fell back in love with. But more importantly it brought me to who I am today as a person and I couldn’t thank the game and the people surrounding the game enough to bring me to who I am today as a person. Football has taught me to give everything I attack in life with my all and to give people the most respect possible. What should college coaches know about you? College coaches should know that I am a kid that will do whatever it takes for my team to win. I am a kid that takes every aspect of being a student athlete to the top notch with academics, film study and going out there and competing on the football field. I will always play through the whistle and lay my body out on the line every time I step on the field to get that win. What do you like about playing in the trenches? Playing in the trenches is the best thing on this earth. We get to battle play in and play out. Fighting for our guys behind me is something I just love about the trenches and seeing those guys get credit means we’re doing our job. The dirty work we get to do is second to none. The aspect of the trenches requires 5 mentally tough dudes to go out there and fight for our skill players and that’s what I love about the trenches! What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? This off-season I really want to work on my strength. It is something we can’t get enough of in the trenches. It helps us in every phase of the game and being able to control the line of scrimmage and it starts with being stronger than the person lined up across from you. Strength is the reason why an O lineman can dominate the line of scrimmage.
