Meet Marian Central's Linebacker John Herff Class Of 2023 Ready To Prove Something This Season
So, in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for Illinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know, but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. This is one of the many reasons why Deep Dish Football is respected in the IHSA. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell
John Herff Marian Central LB/ATH Class of 2023 6'2 200
John Herff how was your junior season? I didn’t compete my junior season due to a knee injury, my junior year was spent mostly watching and learning my future positions. What did you miss most about not playing last season? Not being able to be on the field and support my team, I also really missed being at practices and talking with my coaches every day. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? Having a natural football instinct, being able to read offenses and know where a play is going to go. What does football mean to you? Football to me means freedom, being able to do what I do best on the field and really being able to let loose What should college coaches know about you? I’ve been through everything, I’m ready to compete right away or sit back and wait for my time to play. Wrestling has taught me to always fight and keep going even when you want to give up. And finally talk is cheap What is Across The Line Podcast? Haha.... Across the Line is a podcast that David Peters started, and he eventually invited Liam Mickle and Kaden Hunter, I was the last one to join. We talk about football mostly and go on trips we recently attended the NFL combine. I was inspired to join because of my brother Joseph Herff who’s on the Fireside Bears podcast.
