By: Peter "Coach Big Pete" Leinweber

So in a way to better understand the use of Deep Dish Football for lllinois recruits and the whole entire IHSA Football scene. Decided to do player profiles of players who you might not know or you might know , but you should respect them for their roles on their respective teams. Every Football Player Has A Story To Tell

Jackson Magad how has your season been so far? So far we’ve only played one game vs Niles West. I had 3 tackles however I did not play in the second half because they took out all the starters in a 70-0 win. We were scheduled to play Evanston last Friday until one of my teammates got COVID and they had to suspended all activity for the sophomore team until April 2. We have been having zoom meetings to get ready for our game next Monday vs Glenbrook North. What does football mean to you? Football means everything to me. It has gotten me through the toughest parts of my life. Since I was young it has always been my dream to play under the lights on a Friday night. What should college coaches know about you? I am a kid that is going to play with heart and passion. I'm a worker in the weight room and I am improving my work in the classroom every day. I am one who will not back down to a challenge, and I love to make tackles. What goals do you have for yourself this season? My biggest personal goal is to be a leader on the team and lead by example. I want to become a better form tackler as well as improving my coverage skills as a Linebacker. I also hope to get some carries at running back next game and become one of the main ball carriers. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? My strongest trait is my ability to use both my size and speed to my advantage. My speed helps me get to the QB before he can throw, and make moves to get by incoming blockers. Also, I pride myself on being good at reading the offense from the middle linebacker spot.

Remember Deep Dish Football Is Just Not About Recruiting But About The Love Of The Game Of IHSA Football
