Thomas Kane Loyola Academy DT Class of 2023 6'3 275

Thomas Kane how was your junior season? I would say it went well for the most part. I missed the summer because I was dealing with some health issues and came back to football week 2. I rotated and played a decent amount. I’m most proud of my game against Fenwick where I went toe to toe against Jimmy Liston and did well with some tackles and a sack. What does football mean to you? Football means the world to me. It shows how hard work and dedication can take you to where you want to be. Football is also about the bonds I build with my teammates. Football is a representation of how to approach life. It also means a lot to me because I love playing it and practicing it. If I’m having a hard day football practice makes it better. What should college coaches know about you? That I’m just as serious in the classroom as I am on the field. I want coaches to know that I’m going to be their hardest worker put my all into everything. I will also take advantage of all their teaching points and hope to be a leader for others. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel that my strongest trait is being able to run complicated plays coaches call and being able to run those plays physically and fast. I will always be doing whatever I possibly can to help the team win. What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason? I really feel that this year I played the run really well. Therefore, I’m going to really hope to develop my pass rush. I frequently go to eft which has been helping a lot. I also am constantly working on my feet to get quicker which I think would help me with pash rush. What schools have you talked to so far? At the line showcase the head coach of the University of Chicago pulled me aside after I had won some of the one on ones. He is now the coach for Eastern Illinois. I wouldn’t know if you would consider it talking to Harvard, but they messaged me today on twitter from their recruiting account asking me to fill out their questionnaire. What do you like about playing in the trenches? I love that I’m lining up in front of another person and it’s between me and him to win the battle. I love being super physical and driving them off the ball and opening up my gap. I also love when a running back tries to run the ball through my hole.
