Finn Weppner how was your sophomore season? Amazing, we had a great group of guys and we all had great chemistry, I really shined this year especially on offense, I was very satisfied with our team this year. We worked very hard, I want to give a special thanks to our linemen who worked their tails off in the trenches so us skill guys could show out. What does football mean to you? It means everything. Football is my life, I have a crazy amount of passion for this sport. My goal is to play at the next level and I’m working every day go try to reach that goal. Ever since I was a kid it has been my dream to get a scholarship not only for myself but to save my parents money. I do it for not only myself but the people around me. Football is more than just a sport. My teammates aren’t my teammates, they are my brothers. A football team is more than a team. It’s a family.
What part of your game do you feel you need to work on in the offseason? Strength, I’ve been hitting the weights and my goal is to get even faster and put on muscle. I am doing tons of strength and speed training this off-season with some of my teammates. I’m very excited to see myself get better and better. I’m also excited to train with my teammates to get that important chemistry for next year. What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field? I feel like my strongest trait is aggressiveness for the football, if the ball is in the air I work my hardest for it. There was many plays this year of me catching jump balls and flying to the football. I feel my best trait is no matter how the ball is thrown it is my job to work my hardest to catch it.
What goals do you have for yourself next season?
My goals for next season are to be a leader on varisty and to help lead my team to the playoffs and farther. I want to be an asset to the team and I want to shine on the field and to build chemistry with my coaches and teammates. My last goal is to get noticed by colleges and recruiters.
