Jaden Weinzierl Geneseo WR/ATH Class of 2023 6'0 165

Jaden Weinzierl how was your season?

I thought we had a good season. Some things didn’t go our way, but we pushed through the adversity and kept working hard. Everyone, including me, grew this season and will come back next year ready to work and win some games.

What does football mean to you?

Football to me is a place where I can compete, better myself as an athlete and a man. I’ve played tackle football since 5th grade and I have loved it ever since. It is also a great way to connect with teammates and coaches.

What do you like about playing WR?

I love playing receiver. I feel like it's one on one most of the time. All I need to do is make a move and beat the man in front of me. Receiving the ball and seeing that you have an open field gives me a great rush.

What was your favorite memory from last season?

My favorite memory of last season was when I was playing Sandwich. I ran for my 5th touchdown that game and remember seeing all the middle school kids in the end zone cheering me on. It made me feel accomplished and happy to know that kids look up to me and want to follow in my footsteps.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the football field?

I think my strongest trait in football is not giving up and trying harder after every snap. I've learned the past two years playing varsity football that not quitting and trying to do better every snap goes a long way and eventually you will have success.

What part of your game do you plan on working on in the offseason?

The part of my game that I will be working on this offseason is strength and explosiveness. Becoming stronger and more explosive will help me with finishing runs and catches. I will also work on continuing to be the best leader and teammate I can be on and off the field.

What would you like college coaches to know about you?

I love the game of football and am willing to put in the time and effort to become the best player I can be. I will work my hardest to prove myself and earn my spot. I’m willing to do anything for the team and my teammates.

What should incoming freshmen know about this Geneseo football program?

The freshman better be ready to come in and work hard every chance they get. They need to do the little things right, even when no one is watching them. They will have your ups and downs. They just have to stay with it and have fun. The biggest thing is to cherish the time you have on the field with your friends and coaches, because it goes by quickly.
