Hunter Stitely West Frankfort Class of 2022 DE/ER/DL 6'3 220

Hunter Stitely how was your 2019 season?

It was a really great season for myself and the rest of my team.  We had a winning record and made it to the state playoffs last season.  I was honored to earn a starting position on the varsity team as a sophomore.  I was even more honored to earn an All-Conference award.

What does football mean to you?

It means everything.  When I am not playing football, I am usually thinking about it or training for it.  Football is a sport that you have to be both mentally and physically strong.  It is a major commitment for every player.  You go to practice, weight train, and then, after you are dead tired, go home and study. I truly love the sport!

What part of your game have you been working on in the offseason?

I have been lifting as much as possible during the offseason to add more muscle mass.  I continue to work on improving my explosiveness.  I also have been working on improving my hand speed.

What schools have you talked to so far?

I have been contacted by Davenport University, Columbia University, Harvard University, and Oberlin College.

What should college coaches know about you?

I will always give 110 percent every second that I am on the field and in the classroom.  If I am given the opportunity to play at the next level, I will continue to try and improve each day.

How does this West Frankfort squad look for the upcoming season?

We have several starting players that will be returning this year on both the offensive and defensive sides of the ball.   Our school has made it to the state playoffs the last three out of the last four years.  We plan on making it there once again this season and making it further into the playoffs.

What do you feel is your strongest trait on the field?

My quickness off the line of scrimmage is one of my strongest traits.  I always try to be the hardest working player on the football field, both during practice and games.
